Diversified Search Recruits EVP & Chief Nurse Executive at Cone Health

PHILADELPHIA, June 20, 2016 — Diversified Search (Diversified), one of the nation’s top ten executive search firms, has announced the recruitment of Kenneth Rempher, PhD, RN, MS, MBA, CENP, as executive vice president and chief nurse executive at Cone Health, effective August 22. He will be responsible for setting the standards for nursing practice and continuously improving the quality and safety of patient care. The search was led by Martha Hauser, Managing Director and Practice Leader for the Southern Region of Diversified Search, and Barry Vines, Managing Director within the Healthcare Services Practice.

Rempher was previously chief nursing officer at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and University of Iowa Health Care, where he led efforts to dramatically reduce nursing vacancies, promote nurse retention and consistently earn Magnet™ status. He began his career as a nursing assistant and then a bedside nurse in the areas of emergency services, critical care and cardiovascular surgery. He held a variety of progressive nursing leadership roles including associate vice president for patient care services at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore before joining the University of Iowa system in 2012. Rempher has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, a master’s in business administration from the University of Baltimore and a PhD from the University of Maryland. In addition, he is an associate dean and professor at the University of Iowa College of Nursing, and serves on many regional and national health care boards and committees.
