ROCKVILLE, MD, July 29, 2016 — The American Society for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) is a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to clinical laboratory science and its application to healthcare. AACC’s approximately 8,000 members come from 110 countries and all areas of lab medicine—clinical and research laboratories, diagnostic companies, government agencies, original equipment manufacturers, and more. These professionals develop and conduct lab tests, manage labs, conduct research involving biomarkers, and promote accurate diagnostic testing. AACC provides a dynamic member community for intellectual stimulation, idea exchange, mentoring, collaboration and building enduring relationships. The Association promotes new thinking and new skills, providing essential, clinically-relevant content so lab professionals can advance their careers. Through outreach and advocacy, AACC builds awareness of the essential contributions made by laboratory medicine professionals and their impact on improved patient outcomes.
The Position
The Director, Membership Development is responsible for building and retaining AACC membership through execution of strategies and management of membership marketing and programs. Develops new domestic and international markets and implements effective marketing strategy that achieves membership growth and increases retention. Manages market research activities and needs assessments and fosters member engagement. This position is externally facing with a wide variety of stakeholders in healthcare markets and professions. Position reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, and supervises the Membership Manager and outside vendors.
