November 10, 2020 – Winnipeg-headquartered executive search firm Waterford Global recently added Steven Maxted to its team to serve as global agriculture lead.
“We are excited to have Steven join our team at Waterford Global,” said Karen Swystun, CEO. “He complements our client-focused culture, and his impressive experience and track record in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors make him the right addition to our team as we continue to support agriculture and manufacturing organizations globally in their efforts to help feed the world.”
Mr. Maxted brings over 10 years of experience in the agriculture industry to his new role. Prior to joining Waterford Global, he developed his professional skills within some of the world’s leading agriculture companies where he gained significant experience in relation to crop production optimization, logistics management, supply chain management and the sale and distribution of various ag-related products (including seed, nutritional inputs and crop protection chemicals). His career path has also given him exposure to the rapidly developing tech and e-commerce sides of the agriculture industry, and a working knowledge of the issues faced by start-ups in both agriculture and manufacturing.
Previously, Mr. Maxted was an account executive with Farmer’s Business Network. Before that, he was a crop production advisor for Crop Production Services. He also gained experience with Maxt Medals, Dow AgroSciences, and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
Mr. Maxted will now be applying his knowledge of the agriculture industry to the efficient delivery of ag-related recruitment services. “He enjoys working with clients who are driven to succeed and he is excited about the changes that are occurring, and the advances that are being made, in the agriculture sector,” Waterford Global said. “These changes bring opportunity, and Steven is well-equipped to help clients overcome the recruitment challenges that accompany them.”
Waterford Global’s longtime presence in the global agriculture and agribusiness sector is driven by its “belief that the strength of this sector is critical to world health.” The firm has recruited mid-to-senior level talent within: agriculture equipment companies; agriculture financing and insurance organizations; grain marketing agencies; seed and commodity companies; technology companies; terminal and transport companies; animal feed organizations; agriculture chemical companies; precision-agriculture technology companies; ag-bio processing companies; grain handling companies; farm inputs companies (crop protection and nutrition); and agribusiness buying groups. Waterford Global’s agriculture clients include Canadian and international industry leaders, operating domestically and/or globally, and whose search requirements are consistently national or international in scope.

Since its founding in 2006, the firm has found and placed candidates in business sectors including: healthcare, construction, financial and professional services, agribusiness, retail, communications, energy, manufacturing and real-estate.
