Susan Cooper brings more than 25 years of recruiting experience to DHR with a focus on “brand-centric“ retail clients. Prior to joining DHR International, Susan was a co-founder and partner of COOPER+LOGAN Executive Consultancy focused on the fashion industry.
She specialized in the selection of senior-level design, merchandising, and creative services candidates with a client base ranging from start-up companies to multi-billion dollar firms.
Previously, Susan led the in-house recruitment office for Gap, Inc. for 18 years, working to establish it as the benchmark within the retail industry. She developed a unique expertise identifying and recruiting creative talent across various disciplines and with global scope.
In this role, she was instrumental in helping to shape and define creative leadership teams throughout the company for multiple businesses and brands. Beyond managing the executive search team, Susan championed an executive training program to identify emerging talent and served as counsel to numerous senior executives. Susan began her career in the Macy’s Executive Training Program and spent several years in merchandising and buying before moving into recruitment.
She joined Business Careers, an executive search firm and later worked for Federated Department Stores as a recruiter in merchandising. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Retailing from Syracuse University.
