Starting with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California, Smooch quickly began working as a Press Deputy for an LA City councilwoman before transitioning to a corporate PR and Lobbying Director in Southern California. From there, she eventually designed and launched both the executive search and human resources functions at Hill and Knowlton, Inc., a leading global Public Relations and Investor Relations firm.
Moving further into the world of executive search, Smooch founded The Repovich Reynolds Group (TRRG, Inc.) in 1987 as a client-centric executive search firm. She led the firm for 21 years and gained a vast amount of expertise, working with organizations of all sizes across all industry sectors.
In 2010, Smooch left the firm she had built to serve as the Senior VP of Communications for a multi-billion dollar home building company that had been a client, where she reengineered and redefined the organization’s Communications function. Subsequently, she became a senior management team member creating and leading the Investor Relations and Communications practice groups at three nationally recognized search firms.
To Smooch, her work is more than just a career; headhunting is in her DNA. She defines her success by the achievements of her clients and the candidates whom she has placed. “I have spent my life focused on doing the right things, which is vastly different from those who do things right.”
While Smooch is passionate about her career and her clients’ success she’s equally invested in the success of her three Millennial adult children. Smooch enjoys ballroom dancing in her spare time and jokes that it relaxes her because, “it’s the only time in life when I have the opportunity to follow.”
