Scott Harris

Managing Partner

Scott Harris has served as managing partner of the St. Louis office since 2005. Scott’s 20 years in executive search coupled with his earlier corporate experience equips him to provide clients valuable counsel. He graduated from Brown University (B.A.) and The University of Virginia (M.B.A.).

Prior to joining DHR, Scott was a Division President at Ralston Purina Company (now Nestlé Purina) where he held increasingly important assignments over 15 years. His diverse background includes experience in turnarounds, start-ups, and acquisitions. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Scott focuses on conducting searches at the Board level, C-level and Vice President/Director level across most functional disciplines and industries. He is an active member of numerous practice groups at DHR, including the Board & CEO Practice Group, the Industrial Practice Group and the Non-Profit Practice Group. Although he spends most of his time working on North American searches, for several years he has been the #1 consultant collaborating with DHR’s 20+ international offices.

Recent President/CEO placements include E.C. Barton & Co., Malisco Engineering Inc. , The Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Carolina and The St. Louis Area Food Bank.

Scott was born in Boston and raised in St. Louis. He has had active leadership roles in many professional and charitable organizations over the years. He recently completed a third term on the John Burroughs School Board of Trustees, and is a former Board Member and Alumni Association President for Community School. His wife, Michelle, is Mayor of the City of Clayton MO. They have a daughter and a son who work in the St. Louis area.
