Pravesh Mehra serves as managing partner and global leader of the Business & Professional Services Practice in the firm’s San Francisco and New York offices, where he focuses on senior executive search for companies in the advisory, technology services, and global outsourcing industries. As a member of the leadership team, he is responsible for building a global practice, developing major clients, and providing insights into the talent management challenges facing global organizations.
Pravesh is a seasoned executive with 18 years of experience in management consulting as a partner at Ernst & Young and senior vice president at Capgemini. He spent six years as a managing partner at Heidrick & Struggles, and Russell Reynolds Associates, building their Business and Professional Services Practice. He has experience working in the US, Europe and India. Previously, Pravesh served as the office managing partner of the Menlo Park office for Heidrick and Struggles, which was the firm’s flagship office for the technology industry. Over the years, he has conducted a number of partner level searches for strategy consultancies (McKinsey & Co., Roland Berger, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young) and IT services companies (Accenture, Capgemini, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, Aricent, Avanade). In addition, he has conducted a number of CEO/COO searches for private technology and services companies (IRI, EYC, Aldata, NorthgateArinso, Transcom, Symphony Services, ASRC Federal, Black & Veatch Consulting).
Prior to that, Pravesh was in a management consulting role at Capgemini and Ernst & Young where he consulted with technology clients in the areas of business transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and supply chain management. He was promoted to Partner at Ernst & Young in 1993, and after Capgemini acquired the business in 2000, he was a senior Vice President in the firm. He held many executive level roles in the two firms: account leader for the Hewlett Packard account, Americas leader for the high technology industry, global leader for the B2B Marketplaces Practice, and Americas Leader for the Supply Chain Practice. In 2005 he managed Capgemini’s Management Consulting practice for North America, which was a $200 million business with more than 600 consultants.
Pravesh has a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated with honors. He is also a Chartered Accountant, having won the national gold medal from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Pravesh is a frequent contributor on talent and leadership issues and has co-authored two papers. In “A comprehensive talent strategy for Services outsourcing,” he provided an approach to win the war for talent in outsourcing operations. In “Leading the transformation in global outsourcing; building the right executive team,” he outlined the capabilities and culture required to succeed.
