Nonjabulo Mlangeni

Nonjabulo leads marketing, communications and candidate development initiatives for The Lawrence Advisory. She began her career as a magazine journalist before transitioning to the world of specialized editing, technical writing, and academic research. Nonjabulo’s unique perspective and style combines literary support and subject matter expertise in the areas of social psychology and diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.

In 2021, Nonjabulo was featured as one of 40 “Extraordinary South African women” in The Flanagan Journey (2021). More recently, she is credited as a contributing writer to multiple reference texts for Omingraphics’ equity and inclusion series of reference texts. Aimed to educate young readers about social issues that impact marginalized groups, these resources are available to libraries throughout the United States.

A recipient of the prestigious Andrew W Mellon Foundation Scholarship, and a 2016 Patrick and Margaret Flanagan Fellow, Nonjabulo has a BA in Psychology fro the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (Cum Laude), a BHons in English Literature from Rhodes University (Cum Laude) and an MA in African American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, (Summa Cum Laude).
