Michael Kotelec

Executive Vice President

Michael Kotelec serves as partner in DHR’s Silicon Valley office. Michael specializes in the industrial, clean tech, advanced technology, venture capital and private equity sectors. Michael brings to the executive search community over 25 years of delivering global growth throughout the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.

Prior to joining DHR, Michael held senior executive positions in general management, commercial, supply chain, and operations with AlliedSignal, Honeywell, Nanoconduction, Sabanci Holdings, and Kennametal. Much of his corporate career was spent as an expatriate in Europe and Asia Pacific where he focused on developing international expansion through strategic alliances, organic growth, acquisitions and customer partnerships. In Asia Pacific his China team Won AlliedSignal’s Six Sigma Premier Achievement Award for new plant start-up and new product commercialization.

He was consistently recognized as a metrics focused leader proficient in directing multi-site operations, business model restructuring, and cost control with adept management of cultural and organizational diversity. Michael focuses on diversified industrial manufacturing and consumer products companies. His clients include public and private, multinationals, and private equity-backed portfolio companies.

His placements include executives in both functional leadership roles and general management positions in both C-level and senior management roles. He has direct industry sector experience in Chemicals, Aerospace & Defense, Process Technologies, Advanced Materials, Metals, Renewable Energy, Nuclear, Durable Goods, Electronics, Capital Equipment, Agriculture, and Automotive. His experience leading global businesses provides him with a keen understanding of the strategic issues and leadership challenges facing multinationals.

He understands how talent builds competitive advantage and provides his clients with great leaders across every stage of organizational growth. His attention to detail and his service-oriented approach ensures that key leadership requirements are provided for in a timely manner. Michael is a graduate of Hamden-Sydney College with a BA in Government and Foreign Affairs.

He holds an MBA from the College of William and Mary in International Marketing. Michael is actively involved with volunteerism on the Monterey Peninsula. He is a member of FOCUS (Friends of Carmel Unified Schools) and the First Tee of Monterey. His hobbies include golf, hiking, and skiing.
