Lisa Abair Vuona

With over 15 years of human resources experience to her credit, Lisa Vuona brings a unique understanding of talent recruitment to Lindauer. Starting her career as a Program Director at Family Continuity Programs, Inc., a nonprofit mental health organization with over ten chapters, Lisa performed all hiring and staff training duties, eventually leading to her promotion as Human Resources Manager. She spent the next eight years recruiting, hiring, training, and managing benefits for over 300 employees. From there, she was enlisted as Manager of Human Resources for Chancellor-Beacon Academies, where she was responsible for personnel oversight and talent recruitment for over 20 charter schools across the country.Lisa then served as Director of Recruitment and Training for the Northeast Affiliate of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Her responsibilities included the recruitment, training and onboarding of over 200 professional employees, including vice presidents, executive directors, and advancement professionals, across eight states. In this role, Lisa honed her skill of matching the right candidate with the right position, and many of her placements remain with the organization today.

Working with an array of nonprofit clients at Lindauer since 2006, Lisa has placed high-caliber professionals in leading institutions across the United States. She has helped build teams for Boston College Law School, Clark University, Colby College, Long Island University, Rhode Island School of Design, University of Illinois, University of Oregon, and the University of San Francisco. Other major Higher Education Clients include Babson College, Eastern Michigan University, Harvard University,Harvard College, Rockford University, Saint Michael’s College, Stevens Institute of Technology, University of Utah, University of Wisconsin, and Widener University.

Lisa has likewise made successful placements within independent schools and health/medical entities including MGH –Institute, National Brain Tumor Society, PacificNorthwest University of Health Sciences, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, St. Christopher’s School, Saint Joseph Regional Health Network, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, as well as at public radio leader WGBH and ORBIS International.

Lisa is a graduate of Boston College with a degree in Psychology.
