A leader in KBRS’s executive search team, Laura’s strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and sincere interest in people have made her a trusted advisor to the firm’s public-sector clients.
Laura first joined KBRS as the leader of the largest executive search research team in eastern Canada. She was responsible for ensuring national best practices in search delivery and the hiring and development of the recruitment and research team.
Laura now serves as a search consultant to academic and public-sector clients and provides counsel and strategic advice on equity issues as the firms’ Principal, Diversity and Inclusion. Both her academic training and professional experience have helped her to develop sound strategies for successfully incorporating principles of diversity and inclusion into the recruitment and selection process. Her professional research training has also allowed her to serve as a coach and resource to the firms’ research team, guiding them towards best practices in the search for diverse pools of candidates.
Prior to joining KBRS, Laura held both research and teaching positions at post-secondary institutions across Ontario and served in senior acquisitions and editorial positions at an academic publishing firm, including as Managing Editor of Canada’s oldest feminist press. In this role she was instrumental in recruiting new authors and developing strong national networks and partnerships with feminist scholars across the academic sector.
