Joyce Mak serves as partner and is based in DHR International’s regional headquarters located in Hong Kong. She has extensive knowledge of the consumer and industrial industries making her a great addition to both practice groups. Ms. Mak has several years of executive search experience across Greater China.
Prior to joining DHR International, Ms. Mak was the principal consultant at Amrop China. She has been successful in leading senior executive searches primarily in FMCG, consumer and retail industries. In addition, Ms. Mak is also active in industrial and not-for-profit sectors. Her recruitment expertise has been focused on C-level and vice president/director positions.
Ms. Mak’s client focused business partner approach, together with her corporate and search knowledge and ability to deliver results, is based on her building successful long term partnerships. Clients value her collaborative approach in developing a clear understanding of both their business and culture. Before joining the executive search business, Ms. Mak was a management consultant for six years at Strategic Thinking Group, an international strategy consultancy firm specializing in global corporate strategy.
Ms. Mak has extensive experience serving top management in a diverse range of industries including semiconductors, technology, hotels, airlines, transportation and construction with both multinational and local companies in Hong Kong. She also briefly worked as a business solutions consultant at COL Limited, a leading top-tier computer services companies in Hong Kong, where she developed and managed major clients. Ms. Mak started her career as a research analyst at CIBC CEF GC Brokerage Ltd.
Ms. Mak is active in charitable organizations such as the Rotary Club of Kingspark where in the past she served as President and is also a former HR committee member at the YWCA. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ms. Mak speaks fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and Shanghainese). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from McGill University, Canada. She is also is a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
