JJ Houldin

JJ serves as a principal in our Technology and Healthcare practice, dedicated to recruiting transformative leaders for investor-backed businesses through executive search and assessment. With over a decade of experience spanning finance, executive search, and the PE/VC sector, his background includes working with clients ranging from seed stage businesses to Fortune 50 companies, each with the shared goal of appointing top tier leaders capable of steering performance and nurturing teams. He plays a key role in driving the continued growth of the practice through best-in-class execution and a sharp focus on business development.

Prior to joining Acertitude, JJ was a director of talent at Juxtapose, an investment firm focused on building new companies in the technology and healthcare space. He ran CEO searches for new businesses and collaborated closely with portfolio CEOs to build their leadership teams. His role extended to advising portfolio companies on organizational design, onboarding, culture building, and performance management. Earlier, JJ spent over five years at Spencer Stuart, specializing in executive recruitment in the TMT/CEO practice and leadership advisory services, focusing on executive assessment and development, leadership succession, team effectiveness, and organizational culture across industries.

Outside of the office, you can find JJ spending time with his family and staying active with cycling, running, or golf. He is also passionate about mentoring young people around topics such as navigating through college and planting the seeds for their career path.
