Jennifer Pileggi

Jennifer Pileggi is a Senior Advisor at BarkerGilmore, acknowledged for her invaluable experience as a trusted legal leader and strategic advisor to startups and mid-size technology companies to Fortune 500 industrial companies. Her legal experience and business insights span a diverse set of today’s leading industries: software (including SaaS and subscription services), hardware, logistics and supply chain management, and transportation services. Skilled at addressing strategic and timely business challenges such as scale and international expansion, aggressive growth, mergers, and acquisitions, she has also led a company through an initial public offering. Jennifer is adept at advising on building and developing high-performing legal teams and restructuring legal departments to establish a more responsive and streamlined unit with improved capabilities to support corporate and business unit legal needs. A seasoned C-suite background allows her to share a deep expertise in establishing optimal communication and developing successful relationships with the CEO, other business executives, and the board.

Serving as Corporate Secretary to the boards and board committees at Con-way, SGI, and Zuora, Jennifer was the company lead on corporate governance matters, working closely with directors as a trusted advisor on governance, auditing executive compensation, fiduciary board duties, and risk oversight.

Jennifer currently serves on the advisory board of Ironclad, Inc., a maker of contract management software for legal teams. She participates in the Board Institute of DirectWomen, an organization increasing the representation of women lawyers on corporate boards. She is a frequent speaker on topics such as working with the board and C-suite members as a strategic partner, preparing for and executing an IPO, and how to add value to other C-suite executives.

Jennifer was awarded the Legal Momentum Women of Achievement Award in 2017, the San Francisco Business Times Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business Award in 2018, and the OnCon Top 100 Corporate Counsel Award in 2021.

Jennifer earned her J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law and her B.A. from Yale University.

Most recently, Jennifer served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Zuora (NYSE: ZUO), an enterprise SaaS company providing leading cloud-based subscription management and analytics. She was responsible for worldwide legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, including corporate governance, securities, executive compensation, privacy, and intellectual property and technology licensing transactions. She led the company through its successful IPO.

Prior to joining Zuora, Jennifer served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary for Silicon Graphics International Corp. (NASDAQ: SGI), a high-performance computing, storage, and data management solutions company, where she oversaw all legal affairs and was instrumental in developing and implementing an intellectual property program focused on new innovation capture and monetization of existing IP assets. She previously served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), a Fortune 500 transportation and logistics services company where she successfully handled high-profile litigation and managed and resolved FCPA investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice. Before her role at Con-way, she was Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Menlo Worldwide, Con-way’s supply chain management division, where she started and built the legal function.

She began her legal career in private practice with two leading firms in San Francisco.
