Jane Courson serves in an Of Counsel capacity in Witt/Kieffer’s Education practice. She has served as an executive search consultant to academic and not-for-profit clients for nearly 20 years. Jane supports leadership searches across all academic areas, with special expertise in academic affairs, finance and administration, and human resources. Her projects include searches for presidents, provosts and deans as well as vice presidents for all administrative areas for colleges and universities nationwide, with particular experience serving faith-based and mission-driven institutions.
Prior to joining Witt/Kieffer, Jane enjoyed a career in municipal banking where she served as a vice president of commercial lending and trusted advisor to small businesses. Throughout her career, she has valued exceptional quality and close engagement with both clients and candidates throughout the search process. Additionally, she brings a sound understanding of complex organizations and has a clear sense of the qualities required for effective leadership in higher education’s uniquely collaborative and participatory culture.
Jane is a current member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). She presents regularly at conferences and programs, including the ACE Women’s Network, on topics including strategic talent management and career planning.
