Elizabeth K. Bohan, senior associate in Education, has extensive experience partnering with clients to ensure excellence in recruiting top leaders. She supports them in articulating a compelling leadership profile, identifying and recruiting a diverse and highly qualified candidate pool, and ensuring a streamlined and inclusive search process. She believes higher education’s multiple missions – to grow, disseminate, and apply knowledge; to provide access to high quality and transformative educational opportunities; to engage students in experiential learning; to foster interdisciplinary collaboration to better address complex problems; to engage in global outreach; and to build partnerships to strengthen local communities – are of crucial importance. She is committed to helping institutions realize these strategic priorities through truly talented and dedicated leaders.
Based in Chicago, Elizabeth joined Witt/Kieffer in 1997 and has engaged in a broad range of searches for senior leaders at distinguished institutions across the country. Her work focuses primarily on searches for presidents, provosts, deans, and chief advancement officers; she has been honored to serve both private and public institutions of various size and complexity, including some of the nation’s largest research universities, liberal arts colleges, comprehensive regional universities, and faith-based institutions.
Before joining Witt/Kieffer, Elizabeth spent several years recruiting resident physicians and coordinating the graduate medical education program for the Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago, an institution dedicated to healing and supporting underserved populations in Chicago. She is a dedicated mother, avid reader, and amateur treasure hunter.
