Elaine Lajeunesse

With over 30 years of experience across various senior executive roles within the financial services sector, Elaine works with growth-minded executives who want to continue cultivating success as leaders and are driven to achieve their true potential by improving their impact and gravitas in and out of the boardroom.

Elaine is informed by her diverse background as a C-Suite executive, Senior Vice President, Director, consultant, and woman in STEM at top-tier financial services organizations such as TD, Economical Insurance, and the Bank of Montreal. Having worked in multiple large, complex industries across many jurisdictions and through times of significant change and transition, she has a unique ability to authentically relate to executives and their leadership challenges.

Elaine is an empathetic and analytical coach who will listen with undivided attention, engage candidly, and has a healthy respect for each executive’s uniqueness while helping them assess risks and opportunities from multiple perspectives. Her goal is to exceed their expectations through advocacy and self-promotion to gain increased buy-in and loyalty to enhance their brand.

As a former C-suite executive and proven people leader with deep expertise in operations, Elaine is known for her no-nonsense attitude and ability to optimize profitability and engagement. She is recognized for her ability to create a culture of commitment and high performance through her ‘servant leadership’ approach, which focuses on the growth and well-being of individuals and teams.

Elaine is a coach, mentor, and collaborator to executives, and is a champion of Diversity and Inclusion in all its forms. Her leading area of functional expertise is risk management (RM) and the critically important integration of risk into strategic and business decisions. Elaine’s ability to combine analytic processes, common sense, and strategic thinking allows her to deliver simple and practical solutions to complex issues. Her strong leadership skills and passion for people development have led to reduced team turnover, enhanced efficiencies, and increased retention, engagement, and morale—all critical outcomes in today’s work environment.

In 2021, Elaine was named as a Leader of Change by the Insurance Business Canada—one of only 25 leaders in Canada to achieve the award.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences (Université Laval), is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries & Casualty Actuarial Society and is a CFA charter holder. Elaine is also a Certified Director from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Elaine is fluent in both French and English and has some proficiency in Spanish.
