Carol Hartman is an executive recruiting strategist and a recognized leader in helping companies achieve their business objectives in the U.S. and abroad. With more than 20 years of retained executive search experience, Carol works with companies to develop talent acquisition strategies and place candidates with a diverse range of expertise and backgrounds in executive-level and board positions.
As leader of the firm’s global financial services practice, Carol and her team work with companies providing asset management, commercial and private banking, capital markets, risk/compliance, payments/financial tech and retirement income services.
Carol also has worked with private equity, insurance, real estate and startup companies. She is often retained to help clients in other industry segments recruit senior financial officers and board members. In 2017, Carol was named a Top Producer of the firm. Carol joined DHR International in 2013 and previously served as Managing Partner of the Financial Services Practice in North America.
Since she joined the company, Carol has been one the firm’s top recruiters and a key contributor in the growth of the global financial services practice. Prior to becoming an executive recruiter, Carol worked for Oppenheimer’s ALM Group, Kidder Peabody, Dean Witter Capital Markets and Sutro & Co. in a variety of operational and management roles. That experience has given her a deep understanding of institutional and retail providers of fixed income and equity products, as well as firms offering corporate advisory and corporate finance services.
Carol served on the board of advisors for both the Henry Kravis Leadership Institute and the Financial Economics Institute. She has previously served as the Alumni Association President and as a member of the board of trustees at Claremont McKenna College. Carol has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Claremont McKenna College.
