Prodigy Search Recruits CEO for USA Luge

June 12, 2024 – Prodigy Search, a boutique recruiting firm serving the talent needs of media, sports, and entertainment organizations, has placed Scott Riewald as the new CEO of USA Luge. “Following a stellar 11-year tenure at USA Luge, former Prodigy Search placement Jim Leahy is passing the torch to Scott this month,” the search firm said. “With Scott’s proven expertise throughout the Olympic movement, coupled with his high-performance experience and business acumen, we are confident USA Luge will thrive under his leadership. Mr. Riewald has worked for both Olympic and professional organizations for the last 25 years, developing strategic performance plans to help athletes achieve world-level performance. Most recently, he worked for the Boston Red Sox, where he worked as manager of minor league performance development. Over his career he has worked in a variety of roles for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the U.S. Tennis Association, and United States Swimming. Mr. Riewald has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Michigan State and Eastern Michigan universities. He is a former collegiate swimmer for Boston University and a member of BU’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

In his new position with USA Luge, Mr. Riewald is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the organization, working under the general authority of the board and directly with the staff to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. He will be the day-to-day leader of the organization, executing the organization’s strategy and overseeing operations of staff at all levels. Mr. Riewald is accountable to the board for providing leadership and direction to USA Luge in a manner that enables the achievement of its vision and goals.

“I am tremendously excited to have the opportunity to work for USA Luge, and I have some big shoes to fill, but I’m eager to bring my background in high-performance, winter sport, technology and management to the CEO position,” Mr. Riewald said.

USA Luge is an Olympic class member organization of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. It is the National Governing Body for the sport of Luge in the United States. A registered 501(c)3, USA Luge is based in Lake Placid, NY, with a western office in Park City, UT. Chartered in 1979, as a direct result of the Congressional Amateur Sports Act of 1978, it is the responsibility of USA Luge to recruit, prepare, train, and equip the United States National Luge team(s) for international and Olympic competition, as well as promote the growth of the sport nationwide.

Prodigy Search Assists United States Association of Blind Athletes in Selecting New Board
The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) has announced its new board of directors, which includes seven new appointees. Prodigy Search helped to lead the search process for the board member positions. The at-large board directors are chair Mark Ackermann, vice chair Dr. Skye Arthur-Banning, treasurer Gary Remensnyder, Secretary Amy Wasson, and David Cohen. Two independent directors, who are both new to the USABA board, are Eve Wright Taylor and Brian Eaton.
