About PKD-Free Alliance

PKD-Free Alliance, a passionate, fast-growing, forward-thinking nonprofit, is committed to eradicating Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). PKD-Free works to increase awareness, access and affordability to established genetic testing to prevent PKD from being passed down to future generations and seeks a visionary Chief Implementation and Outreach Officer (CIOO) who shares our deep commitment to ending PKD. We are looking for a leader who will drive transformative changes in the lives of families affected by this disease while remaining a continuous learner—keeping abreast of emerging research, results, and opportunities to offer hope to the communities we serve.

Your CIOO Role

This is an incredible opportunity for a flexible nonprofit professional to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment to build and scale PKD-Free like never before. You will work directly with our visionary founder, Richard Kellner, to shape the future of PKD-Free Alliance. You will be a key partner in the growth process and in creating PKD-Free’s programs and strategies. Together, we aim to give countless families the gift of Generational Health, free from PKD’s burden.  You will guide growth, foster partnerships, oversee operations, and lead outreach initiatives. Through your leadership and commitment to learning and innovation, PKD-Free will remain at the forefront of creative, science-based approaches to eliminating this life-altering disease.

  • Lead targeted email campaigns to PKD Centers of Excellence.
  • Represent PKD-Free at industry events, open houses, and conferences.
  • Create engaging educational materials to expand awareness.
  • Recruit, manage, and inspire a strong volunteer network.

2. Social Media & Public Relations

  • Strengthen and expand PKD-Free’s social media presence.
  • Engage with PKD-related online communities to build visibility.
  • Monitor and respond to social media inquiries thoughtfully.
  • Collaborate with PR teams to refine strategy, messaging, and content.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and public forums.

Who You Are

  • Mission-Driven: You have a deep connection to PKD—personal or professional—and are passionate about supporting families, advancing genetic research, and driving impactful change within the PKD community.
  • Experienced Leader: You bring proven expertise in nonprofit leadership, including grants management, partnership building, and advocacy. You balance strategic decision-making with a commitment to staying informed on emerging research. Your continuous learning mindset helps amplify the organization’s impact and ensures we remain ahead in offering effective solutions.
  • Continuous Learner: You are dedicated to keeping up-to-date with breakthrough scientific research, trends, and developments in PKD and related fields. By leveraging this knowledge, you can identify opportunities to reshape strategies, strengthen partnerships, and communicate hope to families and stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter & Communicator: You are independent, proactive, and thrive on solving challenges. You also excel in collaborating with diverse stakeholders—from researchers to families—and are skilled at communicating a compelling vision to drive engagement and impact.
