Witt/Kieffer Adds Commissioner To Sports Practice

October 10, 2012 – Executive search firm Witt/Kieffer has added Dan Beebe, J.D., to serve as “of counsel” for its sports leadership practice. Mr. Beebe is the former Big 12 Conference commissioner and has nearly 30 years of experience in conference administration and NCAA rules enforcement. At the firm he will support Witt/Kieffer in the recruitment of leaders for athletic departments at major colleges and universities, as well as sports foundations and charities and professional athletic organizations. Mr. Beebe is currently a partner with BMT Risk Management, which works with sports organizations to ensure compliance and maintain integrity. “Dan knows the landscape of collegiate sports as well as anyone in the industry,” said Greg Santore, who heads up Witt/Kieffer’s sports leadership practice. “He is familiar with what skills make a great leader in the athletic world—such as building consensus, raising money, and communicating with alumni and stakeholders.” Witt/Kieffer’s sports leadership practice identifies executives who provide professional management to professional and collegiate sports foundations, individual athlete sports foundations, not-for-profit associations and other related charitable groups. Witt/Kieffer assists colleges, universities, national educational associations, foundations, cultural organizations, human service and advocacy organizations, private secondary schools and other not-for-profit organizations with senior administrative recruiting assignments.
