Vaco Acquires Two Boutiques

December 12, 2016 – Talent solutions firm Vaco has acquired Pivot Point Consulting based in Seattle and boutique executive search firm Greythorn in Bellevue, WA. Financial teams of the deal were not disclosed. The new acquisitions bring together more than 50 employees and 250 consultants across the nation.

“Expanding our team to include Pivot Point and Greythorn enhances Vaco’s extensive healthcare network and nationwide scale with award winning expertise and accreditation,” said Vaco healthcare managing partner Matt Simpson. “We are excited to offer our clients even more in the way of consulting, contract and direct-hire solutions.”

Pivot Point Consulting is a healthcare IT consulting firm that provides implementation, staff augmentation and advisory services for healthcare provider organizations. With employees in 30 states, the company has provided services to over 40 healthcare organizations, including large multi-hospital networks, academic institutions, pediatric hospitals and local community clinics.

“This new venture broadens our global reach and complements our extensive menu of services,” said Rachel Marano, managing partner and Pivot Point co-founder. “Combining the talents of these three businesses strengthens the options for our current and prospective clients.”

Greythorn specializes in placing top executives within the healthcare IT sector. In addition to executive search, the firm provides various talent management services, including training; leadership support; strategy and planning; project management; and staff engagement and retention solutions.

“The cultures of our three businesses match extremely well,” said Ben Weber, managing partner of Greythorn. “Greythorn has produced results here in the U.S. for over 16 years. We look forward to building on our success as part of this new company.”

Continued Expansion

This past spring, Vaco opened its second New Jersey location in Saddle Brook. Search industry veteran Leon Downes joined the firm from Solomon Page to lead the office as managing director. He has over 15 years of recruiting experience across accounting, finance, operations and administration.

Focus Search Partners, the executive search division of Vaco, recently added Julia Dupps as a partner in its Los Angeles office. Her addition to the Focus Search team allows the firm to continue expanding its presence on the West Coast. Ms. Dupps focuses on executive level positions in the healthcare and life sciences industries. With more than 14 years of recruitment experience, she gained search experience with Korn Ferry Futurestep and Caldwell Partners.

Focus Search’s L.A. expansion follows the firm’s entry into the San Francisco market with the acquisition of search firm Charlson Partners, a specialist recruiter for enterprise technology and service companies. Founder Adam Charlson has recruited senior leaders for a wide variety of companies in the space, including Adobe Systems, Cisco, Cornerstone OnDemand, Convergys, DataPipe, Experian, FICO, Google, HP, Infor Global Solutions, Informatica, JDA Software, Microsoft, PayPal, Progress Software, Salesforce.com, SAP, Sitel, TeleTech, and Verint, among others.
