Top Gun Ventures Names New York Practice Leader

May 26, 2016 – Top Gun Ventures has appointed Tom Silver as partner and executive in charge of the firm’s New York area practice.

Mr. Silver most recently served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Leadership Directories. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Dice Holdings, where he was on the executive team when the company recovered from Chapter 11 and headed towards an IPO in four years. During his career, Mr. Silver has held various executive roles with Bowne & Co., American Express and Unilever.

“Tom Silver brings a rare perspective to help client companies,” said Don Tuttle, managing partner of Top Gun Ventures. “He has been one of our executive search candidates, and a client of Top Gun Ventures, so he is very familiar with our approach, best practice techniques and search processes to find ‘game changers.’ We are very excited to have Tom and his successful executive background as part of our unique team.”

“I’m thrilled to join the Top Gun Ventures team,” said Mr. Silver. “This opportunity gives me the chance to work closely with clients, to find dynamic leaders that can start up, accelerate, launch or transform businesses.”

Founded in 2002, Top Gun Ventures has offices in Dallas, Austin, Boston, Palo Alto, Seattle and St. Louis and reach throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. The firm places CEOs and executives with corporate, venture capital, and private equity clients.

Tom Gun Ventures recently named Ralph Young as partner and executive in charge of its West Coast search practice. His background includes a variety of vertical markets at Microsoft, including executive leadership positions within multi-billion dollar business units (vice president of both worldwide communications sector and worldwide public sector). Previously, he was president, strategic business coach and leadership consultant at RDY Consulting.
