Tesco Bank CEO Champions HR as Key to Sustainable Success

LONDON, June 24, 2016 — Leadership advisory firm Marlin Hawk this week hosted a seminar for senior HR leaders, with guest speaker Benny Higgins, CEO of Tesco Bank, sharing his views on the modern role of the chief HR officer. Delegates represented several industry sectors including retail, FMCG, media and financial services.

In his address, titled ‘Is modern leadership the responsibility of HR?’, Mr Higgins talked about the importance of the relationship between the CEO, CFO and CHRO in managing transformation and creating a sustainable business model and how, within this triumvirate, nothing is more important than the CHRO’s remit in setting and overseeing a progressive people agenda. 

Benny Higgins is currently Chief Executive of Tesco Bank, Group Strategy Director for Tesco PLC and a member of the Tesco Executive Committee. During his career he has held senior positions at a number of leading financial services companies including Standard Life, RBS (where he led the successful integration of NatWest Retail Banking) and HBOS.
