Survey Says 90 Percent of Respondents Expect to Hire

June 25, 2010 – Ninety percent reported they expect to hire or that their workforce will not be reduced in the coming months, indicating a general optimism about the future business environment, according to HireRight’s 2010 edition of the Background Screening Benchmarking Report. Sixty-nine percent reported personally catching a candidate lying on his or her resume while only one third of respondents screen contingent labor, representing a substantial security gap. Those who currently conduct or plan to conduct global screening more than doubled from 2009 (11 percent) to 2010 (25 percent), indicating that more organizations are incorporating international screening into their programs and policies as the growth of enabling technologies and services make screening around the globe more accessible, timely and cost effective. The 2010 HireRight Background Screening Benchmarking Report is based on survey responses to dozens of questions from more than 1,800 participants, representing employers around the globe.
