Strawn Arnold hires Tony Yost and Barry Duke

September 5, 2017 – Life science and healthcare executive search firm Strawn Arnold & Associates has expanded with the additions of Tony Yost and Barry Duke as executive vice presidents.

Mr. Yost has more than 30 years of pharmaceutical and diagnostic experience in both large and small companies. Most recently, he was chief commercial officer for Otonomy, a specialty pharmaceutical company, after serving in the same role for Prometheus Labs and EKR Therapeutics. Previously he was general manager for the Western U.S. operating unit of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, after serving as the president of Innovex, the U.S.-based pharmaceutical sales and marketing services division of Quintiles Transnational. Mr. Yost has also held various commercial, international, and general management positions at Schering-Plough, Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly and Company.

With more than three decades of working in life sciences, Mr. Yost has developed an extensive network across many functional areas in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries, including business development, sales, marketing, market access, medical, operations and manufacturing.

Mr. Duke, for his part, has more than 30 years of experience in the biopharma industry. Most recently, he served as EVP, chief commercial officer at Collegium Pharmaceutical. In that role, he built a launch-ready commercial organization from scratch with over 200 employees and supporting infrastructure within 15 months. Prior to that job, he served as VP of sales and marketing for Sanofi/ Genzyme and was the U.S. commercial lead for a $400 million orthopedic product. He has also held leadership positions of increasing responsibility with small and mid-size to large, well-established organizations including: the Upjohn Company, Centocor, Astra USA, the Liposome Company, Élan and Enzon.

Mr. Duke’s search work focuses on senior leadership placements at the board, C-suite, VP and director levels. Among his attributes, he has been an operating executive within the biopharma industry, which includes a broad network of contacts across commercial operations, medical, regulatory, clinical and business development.
