Sports Recruitment Specialist Expands Into Canada

January 28, 2016 – SRi (Sports Recruitment International) has expanded into Canada and added Max Dawson to lead the firm’s operations in the region.

Mr. Dawson, who retains the title of director, Canada, was previously a search manager with executive recruiting firm Conroy Ross Partners. He previously served in numerous roles with NHL hockey team the Edmonton Oilers, most recently as a partnership sales specialist and operations supervisor.

“SRi is proud to be expanding our team and network of international offices through establishing a presence in Canada,” said Jim Chaplin, managing director. “We are delighted to have someone with the knowledge and experience of Max joining our team. His insight into the local market will be invaluable as we look to provide our Canadian clients and candidates with the best possible levels of service.”

“I am excited to be joining the team at SRi. I pride myself on hard work, establishing strong relationships, high levels of client and candidate care and working as part of a team,” said Mr. Dawson. “I am really looking forward to helping provide high quality talent to the growing sports industry in Canada.”

Sport in Canada has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to increase in size, scope and sophistication. Along with that expansion has come a need for more seasoned business professionals adept at marketing, public relations, fundraising and general management.

A Canada beachhead now provides SRi access into the total North American sports market and gives it increased exposure to sporting organizations at the professional, national and international level.

With offices in London, Lausanne, Singapore, Beijing, Sydney, Melbourne and now Canada, Sports Recruitment International is an executive search firm dedicated to the global sports, media and entertainment industries.

The sports industry continues to be a growth area for executive search businesses. Aside from all of the large, global search generalists, many C-suite focused recruiting boutiques are now active in the sector and some specialize only in the sports field itself. These include Turnkey Search, Eastman & Beaudine, and Collegiate Sports Associates — all dedicated to providing sports-related executive search and leadership advisory services.
