Spencer Ogden Opens in Berlin

November 26, 2013 – Recruiting firm Spencer Ogden has opened a new office in Berlin, Germany. Andrew Roberts will head the new office as country manager, DACH. Mr. Roberts brings with him 15 years’ experience in the recruitment sector and will be responsible for growing Spencer Ogden’s presence across Europe. Currently the Berlin team is comprised of four consultants, but this will grow to a team of eight by the end of the year. Within six months of opening, the Berlin team will be running a German Spencer Ogden Academy and will take on an additional ten graduates as a result. The expansion into Germany comes as a direct result of ‘energiewende’: the transition of Germany to a sustainable economy by means of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development. David Spencer-Percival, CEO of Spencer Ogden, said: “The German renewable energy sector is booming – with huge wind farms in the north of the country complemented by advanced biomass and hydroelectric power, it’s a really exciting time to be expanding to Berlin. Spencer Ogden already services German clients, so the opening of this new office comes at the perfect time as we look to continue our aggressive global growth strategy.” The Berlin office joins Spencer Ogden’s other headquarters in London, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Houston, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Calgary and Cape Town.
