Odgers Berndtson Launches Financial Services Practice in Australia

December 17, 2015 – Odgers Berndtson has launched a dedicated financial services practice in Australia as the firm continues to expand its operations in the Asia Pacific region. The new practice will be led by former CTPartners’ recruiters Lynn Muirhead and Jules Orpin.

“We are excited to announce the launch of our financial services practice with the appointment of two of the industry’s most experienced search consultants,” said Julie Steiner, Odgers managing director, Australia.

Mark Braithwaite, Odgers managing director, Asia Pacific, said: “The Australian financial services sector is a significant contributor to the financial services market globally. As such, it is a great attractor of leading global talent as the environment nurtures and develops leaders who are then easily exported into the largest financial centers in the world.” Linking with its worldwide colleagues, he said, the Odgers Berndtson Australian financial services team will actively participate in the “global mobility of outstanding talent.”

Ms. Muirhead brings significant international experience in asset and wealth management, real estate, infrastructure and private equity to the practice. She has worked across multiple geographies and managed a diverse range of global assignments for leading asset management and real estate firms. She also consults on senior talent management strategies with a focus on leadership succession and diversity issues. Prior to CTPartners, Ms. Muirhead gained search experience at Highland Partners and The Rose Partnership.

Mr. Orpin has a wealth of experience and knowledge having worked for over 25 years in executive search and consulting across a broad spectrum of financial services. He is well regarded as a search partner having run the global banking and markets practice of a multinational executive search firm based in Sydney. Before CTPartners, Mr. Orpin served in various roles with Sheffield Haworth and Heidrick & Struggles.

These new additions join former CTPartners Belinda Humphrey who joined Odgers Berndtson in October as a principal in its life sciences & healthcare practice as well as ex-CTPartners colleagues Pamela Santos and Steven Payne, who joined the firm’s Boston and New York offices. Other former CTPartners to join Odgers this year include: 16-year search industry veteran John Hawkins; Tina Veen; nine-year CTPartners veteran Paul Aldrich; and Keith Macomber.

Odgers Berndtson Australia is part of an international network of 55 Odgers Berndtson offices globally. In addition to Australia, Asia Pacific, the U.S. and Europe, the firm has particular strengths in emerging markets including the Middle East, Central Europe, South Africa, and Greater China.
