Monster’s Revenue Rises 21 Percent

May 3, 2011 – Monster Worldwide, Inc./(NYSE:MWW) has posted revenues of $261 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011, compared with $215.3 million in the comparable quarter of 2009, a 21.4 percent gain. During the quarter, Monster reported a net income of $0.1 million or break-even earnings compared to a net loss of $24 million or 20 cents per share in the first quarter of 2010. Non-GAAP Careers-North America revenue was $124 million, an increase of 28 percent compared to $97 million in the first quarter of 2010. Careers-International revenue increased 25 percent to $107 million compared with $86 million in the prior year period. Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, president and CEO, said: “We are confident we have the right strategy in place and reiterate our outlook for bookings and revenue growth in 2011 to be in the range of 20 to 25 percent and remain committed to significantly improving profitability.”
