Kincannon & Reed Names Managing Director

December 2, 2016 – Executive search firm Kincannon & Reed has added Lisa Johnson as managing director. Based in Chicago, Ms. Johnson becomes a member of the firm’s food and ingredients team. She will be leading recruiting and succession assignments for the firm’s clients seeking general managers, presidents, and CEOs, as well as senior functional executives in marketing, sales, finance, business development, and R&D.

“Lisa brings important skills to a segment of our business that has seen significant growth over the past year,” said Paul Miller, global lead of Kincannon & Reed’s food & ingredient practice. “Her knowledge of the food value chain, the companies within it, and the talent pool of successful executives are the qualities our national and global clients look for in an executive recruiter.”

Prior to joining Kincannon & Reed, Ms. Johnson ran her own company focused on pairing food manufacturers and retailers around the world. In addition, she brought global best practices to help clients optimize production methods for increased productivity and profitability.

As a serial entrepreneur, Ms. Johnson started her first company at the age of 27, a healthy fast food restaurant in downtown Chicago. Less than two years later, she co-founded Gourmet Kitchens, a fresh food manufacturing firm, and grew the company to nearly $50 million in annual revenue before it was acquired.

She frequently speaks on fresh prepared foods and women’s entrepreneurship. Her awards and recognitions include regional finalist in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Inductee in the Chicago Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame, Wells Fargo Trailblazer Award, NAWBO-Chicago Business Woman of the Year Award, and the Industrial Council of NearWest Chicago’s Business of the Year Award.

Kincannon & Reed focuses exclusively on the food, agribusiness, and life sciences sectors and serves clients from its offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia / Pacific. The firm recently placed Lucas Lentsch as chief executive officer of the Midwest Dairy Association, a non-profit organization which manages dairy farmer checkoff funds in a 10-state region.

It recently expanded into Latin America with the addition of Juan Pablo Buc Calderon as a managing director covering Chile and Peru. Within the region, he serves the firm’s agribusiness and food clients throughout Latin America. Mr. Buc Calderon worked extensively in Chilean agriculture, occupying key executive positions in recognized companies in the fruit export sector and agribusiness.

A few months back, Kincannon & Reed appointed Alan Temple as a managing director serving clients in the produce and food sectors. His background includes a two decade long career with B&W Quality Growers, Inc., a producer and distributor of branded and wholesale leafy greens with international distribution. The firm also named Phillip Osborne as a managing director in Australia / New Zealand. His background includes CEO and CFO positions in the FMCG, beverage, food and food ingredients, and agribusiness sectors.
