JDG Taps CEO for Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine

October 7, 2016 – Executive search firm JDG Associates has recruited Tracy Petrillo as chief executive officer of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM). Principal Paul Belford led the assignment.

Following a national executive search process, Dr. Petrillo was unanimously selected for the position by the Academy board of directors and search committee.

Dr. Petrillo is a 15-year veteran of non-profit management and a thought leader in the areas of education, conferences, credentialing, leadership development and member engagement. She is a certified association executive who was awarded the highest national honor for staff, the 2016 Professional Performance Award, given by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

She arrives from EDUCAUSE, a non-profit whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology, after serving there as chief learning officer. Dr. Petrillo previously held leadership positions with the League of California Cities in Sacramento and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Chicago.

“The board of directors agreed that Tracy is uniquely qualified to help the Academy build a strong foundation to position us for alignment and long-term growth,” said AIHM chair Daniel Friedland MD. “We look forward to working with her and utilizing her expertise, energy and ideas.”

Mr. Belford has completed nearly 300 association searches, mostly at the CEO level. He is nearing completion on the CEO search for Northern Virginia-based Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC). He recently placed Kevin Traver as executive director of multidisciplinary organization Marine Technology Society (MTS).
