Brigham Hill Consultancy
Brigham Hill Consultancy conducts senior-level executive searches exclusively for not-for-profit organizations. The firm’s experience base is concentrated primarily in independent schools, foundations, cultural institutions, and human service organizations, with some background in higher education, healthcare, and professional associations. In the course of the firm’s almost-20-year history and its founder’s 37 years of executive search experience, Brigham Hill has developed an extensive range of contacts. The firm has a robust proprietary database, with records on more than 20,000 nonprofit-related individuals, that we use strategically to identify and contact knowledgeable people who may be able to refer us to potential candidates and networking sources.
Our consultants follow the protocol developed almost 100 years ago in what is now known as the executive search industry. We combine the disciplined, information-based, and strategic approach of the for-profit search world with the values and governance systems of not-for-profit organizations. That is, while financial management is always important, the ultimate goal of the institution is the delivery of its mission, and the governance structure of most not-for-profits typically requires working with a range of stakeholders rather than a sole individual. In this way, the value system and aspirations of the client can be furthered through a rigorous and exhaustive process that results in clarity and resolution about the client’s leadership needs and the appointment of a new executive whose values and aspirations align with those of the client.
