IMD International Adds Partner in Czech Republic and Slovakia

June 14, 2017 – With assignments increasingly coming in from around the globe, executive recruiters are developing new practices, hiring recruiters, and opening new locations. While the uptick in business has proven to be good for virtually every search firm, global recruiting consortiums seem well-placed and well-anchored to take advantage of some geographic areas that once seemed to be cooling off but are now resurgent.

To that end, global executive search consortium IMD International Search Group has added Top Recruitment as its newest member firm. Founded in 2005, it has offices in both Prague, Czech Republic and Bratislava, Slovakia.

The firm’s five consultants are active mainly in industrial, production, non-profit, financial services, life sciences and technology, for both international and local clients. Mainly focused on retained executive search, Top Recruitment also offers services in leadership consulting (assessment, consultancy, coaching and career advisory).

Pavel Smejkal, managing director of Top Recruitment, has a long and broad experience in management positions in finance, operations, sales and division / company management within important multinational companies of various sectors: FMCG, transport and logistics and professional services.

Czech Republic and Slovakia

“It is my pleasure to join an organization like IMD, with so long history, full of great people and valuable experience,” said Mr. Smejkal. “To become a member of IMD Group helps me to makes my dreams true in respect of connecting my clients with the best people not only in Czech and Slovak Republic but internationally as well.”

“Seen from Germany notably,” said Dr. Matthias Mohr, IMD president and managing partner of Dr. Heimeier & Partner. “It was essential to find a reliable partner in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Pavel Smejkal and his team have collaborated with our firm on several occasions already and they did greatly, with total satisfaction from our clients’ side. Top Recruitment is definitely an asset for IMD.”

The Czech Republic possesses a developed, high-income economy. The most stable and prosperous of the post-Communist states, the Czech Republic saw growth of over six percent annually in the three years before the outbreak of the recent global economic crisis. Growth has been led by exports to the European Union, especially Germany, and foreign investment, while domestic demand is reviving. The largest companies of the Czech Republic by revenue are automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto, utility company ČEZ Group, conglomerate Agrofert, energy trading company RWE Supply & Trading CZ and electronics manufacturer Foxconn CZ.

Slovakia also has a highly developed, high-income economy. It is an attractive country for foreign investors mainly because of its low wages, low tax rates and well educated labor force. Although Slovakia’s GDP comes mainly from the tertiary (services) sector, the industrial sector also plays an important role within its economy. The main industry sectors are car manufacturing and electrical engineering.
