DHR International Recruits Chief Operating Officer for LLamasoft

June 12, 2015 – DHR International has recruited Dale Erker as chief operating officer for LLamasoft, Inc., a software supplier dedicated to advancing technology focused on the continuous improvement of enterprise supply chain network operations. The company’s design and analysis applications enable companies to model, optimize and simulate their supply chain operations, leading to major improvements in cost, service, sustainability and risk mitigation. Mr. Erker’s placement comes at a time when talent demand for specialist leaders adept at streamlining supply chains by improving logistics and enabling more accurate forecasting is rising. That has made it big business for executive recruiters with expert knowledge of the sector, who say that finding exceptional leaders skilled at managing the convergence of supply chain processes into the broader supply chain management space, such as procurement, are most in demand.

“We sourced the enterprise SaaS software industry across the U.S. assessing proven leaders who had a successful background in managing the growth of fast-paced companies and who transitioned their business models from a license software model to SaaS,” said DHR’s EVP Paul Stefunek, who along with the firm’s global industrial practice leader, Joe Huddle, handled the recruitment. “There were a few strong leaders coming from our broad industry assessment. And we also assessed leaders within the supply chain software sector. Dale Erker was the chosen candidate.” DHR currently has five dedicated EVP-level search consultants who focus on the software segment of the sector and a designated research team of 10 that supports them.

Mr. Erker is a senior executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in C-level management, software sales, marketing, engineering and production management. With extensive P&L experience in North American and international markets, he is considered a top specialist in supply chain, business analytics and Big Data. He has worked in turnaround situations, built motivated sales organizations, repositioned products for increased profitability, and has extensive background in M&A and negotiations.

“The supply chain software sector is continuing to see growth as well as M&A activity just like other sectors in software and technology,” said Mr. Stefunek. “It is worthy to note that LLamasoft, a three-time Deloitte Technology Fast 500 winner, experienced 830 percent growth between 2009 to 2013, coming in at No. 139 for 2014 Deloitte rankings, with similar reported significant growth for 2015.”

DHR International has one of the more active industrial search niches among the top-rated U.S.-based executive recruiters. Areas of specialty within the firm’s supply chain practice include supply chain strategy, procurement (strategic & and global sourcing, and supplier relationship management), manufacturing strategy, operational excellence (lean six sigma, lean manufacturing, lean supply chain), inbound and outbound logistics and global logistics operations, and supply chain planning. The firm recently recruited the EVP of global consulting services for supply chain software leader JDA Software.
