Acertitude Recruits HealthSCOPE Benefits COO

October 8, 2015 – Executive search firm and talent consultancy Acertitude has placed Matt Gray as chief operating officer of HealthSCOPE Benefits, the Arkansas-based specialist in full-service claims administration and healthcare management services.

In his new role, Mr. Gray will lead the company in providing the innovative service offerings and operational efficiencies critical to meeting the diverse and expanding healthcare program administration challenges facing its clients across the U.S. He will lead and direct HealthSCOPE’s six lines of business, which include medical management, network services, claims administration, HSB Datascope, consumer drive health and benefits administration.

Mr. Gray’s career has included senior managerial roles in operations, benefit management and customer service for Caremark/CVS and TEAMHEALTH, as well as a position as manager of technology-enabled service programs for Computer Science Corporation.

Mary Catherine Person, president of HealthSCOPE, said: “Matt has exactly the skills and the experience we need to continue creating the solutions our clients need, and to craft and manage the complex operational processes and infrastructure we need to support them.”

“HealthSCOPE’s success starts with real expertise in program administration, but its rapid growth also springs from the commitment of its people to thinking and acting creatively about how to do things better,” said Kevin O’Neill, founder and managing partner of Acertitude. “Matt embodies that same spirit and backs it up with a track record of high performance across the operational and service spectrum. This is a great fit, for both the company and for Matt.”

HealthSCOPE is recognized for its leadership position in serving the needs of managed care networks, notably in non-metropolitan areas.  The company today is the fourth-largest third-party administrator in the U.S., administering healthcare benefits in all 50 states for over 200 companies and more than a half-million members. It employs more than 700 employees in seven offices nationwide.

Since its launch in June, Acertitude has been retained to find a new general counsel for a Detroit-metro tier-one automotive supplier, a CHRO for a multi billion dollar mobile device distributor and services provider, and a CEO for a sports-eyewear producer. Recently, the firm recruited the EVP of operations for Ventura Foods.

Acertitude is a sister company of O’Neill Consulting Group and Technology Executive Group (TEG). The firm specializes in recruiting senior executives in a number of sectors, including consumer, industrial, private equity, professional services, technology, telecommunications & media, healthcare & life sciences, and non-profit & foundations. Its consultants work from offices in Boston, Dallas, London, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Providence, Raleigh, Shanghai, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.
